Also known to many people as the George Foreman Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine, the George Foreman Grill is one of the most popular indoor grills sold around the world today. It is sold by George Foreman, a man that used to be one of the major boxers in the world. There are a number of infomercials around that refer to it and the interest both in the infomercials and the advertisements that have gone up in newspapers and subway platforms has been of a very high level. George Foreman jokingly says that it's so good that he puts his name on it and when you consider a lot of the different things that are good about it, that statement might well be true.
It is a grill that is very small in nature and is known for its ability to reduce the fat content of meat by grilling it out. The fat reducing aspect of it comes in handy for people that are on diets who require lean meat or simply people that are looking for ways to reduce their fat intake without sacrificing any of the great taste.
Another great thing about the grill itself is that it is very easy to clean. You can remove the grilling plates and what's even better is that the grilling plates themselves are also dishwasher safe. There are a number of great aspects of convenience to the George Foreman grill, but this by far has to take the cake.
There are two genuine criticisms of the grill itself that deserve mentioning as well. The run off grooves in the grill itself that are advertised as being able to remove fat from the grill actually remove water as well, so what you see in effect is a larger amount of liquid moving away than just the fat. Also, a lot of the grill models do not have an on/off switch, so users have to unplug the appliance after every use. While the former criticism is unfixable, the latter can be argued to be going at it from the point of view of consumer electrical safety; so depending on who you are it might not be an inconvenience at all!
